Also, enemy AI's positioning is insanely precise and almost always the best possible, which is cool. I guess it's a general problem with SRPGs anyway, but it's even more annoying in this game because the designers do a good job of making enemies equal to your characters in terms of skills and equipment (often times they have higher level skills anyway). Unfortunately, this also applies to guest characters so in battles where you need to save someone, they'll be happy to run into the middle as long as they can hit something for tons of damage and die because of it. This isn't the only strategy the AI uses, but it seems to be the default strategy. For example, instead of killing my Knight they'll ignore her and hit my Wizard for 80 damage. This is actually a pretty solid strategy but sometimes it's just downright strange. Guest characters in FFT were generally regarded as stupid, but damn is it made worse in this game by how the enemy AI works as well.įrom what I can tell, it seems like enemies will always prioritize the maximum damage they can do to any available target. I'm now somewhere near the end of Chapter III and my biggest complaint of this game by far is the AI. Fans of Isometric RPGs could not go wrong with this title it is a fine addition to the PSP's library of great RPGs. The chariot system is very interesting as it lets you go back in time to pick an alternative path so you will not have to make an additional save file to experience all the content. The story is dark and political as expected from an Ogre Battle title and is as far as taste goes, very good. Deployments are up to 12 deep, and characters of above average strength are guests and uncontrollable, making a game where for the most part your strength and your enemies are similar and so you must move and deploy wisely.
